About Omenaa

Omenaa Mensah is a Ghanaian-Polish entrepreneur, philanthropist, cultural leader and ecosystem builder whose work connects business, art, media and social impact across Europe and Africa.

For more than two decades, she has built her career at the intersection of public influence, entrepreneurship and purpose. Beginning as a journalist, television host and media personality, Omenaa spent over 20 years working with leading media networks, including TVN Warner Bros. Discovery. Throughout her media career, she interviewed business leaders, public figures and global changemakers, while using her public platform to advocate for education, diversity, female empowerment and civic responsibility.

Over time, she transformed media influence into institutional leadership. Rather than building individual projects in isolation, Omenaa creates interconnected platforms that bring together people, capital, culture, institutions and ideas. Her approach follows a distinctive logic: identifying untapped potential, creating a vision, building a narrative, connecting relationships and resources, and ultimately scaling them into enduring ecosystems. This ability to connect worlds that traditionally operate separately has become a defining feature of her global work.

Today, her activities span philanthropy, business, contemporary art, cultural heritage, fashion and international partnerships. As an entrepreneur and business owner, Omenaa has built and developed ventures across media, fashion, design and culture. She is the owner of Occhiello, a bespoke tailoring brand, and is behind business and media ventures including GQ Poland, Omi Productions and Phenomenaa Gallery.

Alongside her commercial ventures, she is the Founder of the Omenaa Foundation and OmenaArt Foundation, Vice President of the Rafał Brzoska Foundation, and creator and organizer of the internationally recognized TOP CHARITY Gala. To date, TOP CHARITY and its related initiatives have raised more than €55 million for social impact, educational scholarships and child welfare, while the 2026 Gala alone raised approximately €20 million in just 90 minutes. Through these initiatives, she is building an interconnected ecosystem that brings together private capital, culture, institutions and social impact.

Her international engagement is deeply rooted in both her Polish and Ghanaian heritage. Raised in Poland with Ghanaian roots, Omenaa was strongly influenced by the story of her father, who came to Europe from Ghana on an academic scholarship and went on to become a distinguished heart surgeon. His journey shaped her belief in education, opportunity and individual agency as powerful forces of social mobility.

Her work increasingly focuses on the relationship between Africa and Europe, not through a traditional aid narrative, but through partnership, cultural agency, entrepreneurship, investment and shared value creation.

Her work also extends to cultural regeneration: recovering historic places and reimagining their purpose through art, architecture, education and international collaboration. Through projects developed within OmenaArt Foundation, endangered heritage is transformed into living cultural platforms that connect memory with the future and bring new audiences into historic spaces. Alongside her professional and institutional work, Omenaa is developing her academic research in the field of creative industries and neo-colonial trade structures, with a particular focus on economic and cultural agency in contemporary African art. Her doctoral research combines academic inquiry with years of direct engagement with artists, institutions, markets and social initiatives across Africa and Europe.

Today, Omenaa Mensah is building a global platform around one central idea:

Lasting impact is created when culture, capital, relationships and institutions are connected with purpose.

Her Vision

To build a new generation of global platforms where private capital, culture, entrepreneurship and institutions work together to create lasting public value.

Omenaa Mensah’s vision is based on the belief that many of today’s social and cultural challenges cannot be addressed by philanthropy alone. Sustainable transformation requires cooperation between the private sector, cultural institutions, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, governments, creators and local communities.

Her ambition is to build an international ecosystem connecting Europe, Africa and global markets, with Poland as a strong European base for scale and entrepreneurship, and Africa as a source of identity, creativity, social impact and cultural authority.

Her Mission

To turn private capital into public good, relationships into partnerships, culture into influence and networks into enduring institutions.

Omenaa’s mission is to redefine contemporary philanthropy by combining entrepreneurial efficiency with long-term social responsibility.

Her work is guided by four principles

Private Capital for Public Good

Mobilising private wealth, entrepreneurship and business expertise to address social challenges and deliver measurable impact.

Partnership over Aid

Building Africa-Europe relationships based on agency, investment, trust and shared opportunity rather than dependency.

Culture as a Force for Change

Using art, heritage, fashion and creative industries as tools of cultural diplomacy, identity and international dialogue.

Platforms over One-Off Projects

Creating structures, institutions and networks capable of generating long-term value beyond individual campaigns or events.

These themes also define Omenaa’s emerging global thought leadership, particularly around African agency, the creative economy, private capital, cultural narratives and new models of Africa-Europe cooperation.

African-European Heritage

Omenaa Mensah’s Polish and Ghanaian-Asante heritage is at the heart of her global identity and work. Poland is her European base of entrepreneurship, scale and private capital, while Africa is a source of identity, cultural authority and long-term social impact. Rooted in Asante heritage, she uses culture not as a symbol, but as a platform for cultural diplomacy, international dialogue and new forms of cooperation between Africa and Europe.

In Ghana, this vision takes physical form through the Omenaa Sport & Art Campus, a social-impact infrastructure combining sport, art, education and community development. Designed not only to serve local communities, the Campus also creates a meeting point for donors, universities, cultural institutions, media and international partners. Omenaa extends this African narrative globally through TOP CHARITY, using each edition to spotlight a different African cultural story, from Asante heritage in Warsaw to Ethiopia’s history and royal legacy in Venice.

Her broader Africa-Europe ecosystem connects UNESCO, royal families, cultural institutions, artists, founders, business leaders and philanthropists, turning relationships into partnerships and partnerships into long-term programmes. Her approach moves beyond traditional aid towards African agency, investment, cultural exchange and shared value, positioning Omenaa as a bridge-builder between Africa and Europe.
